BIRTA PLAYER / SUPPORT

A little help, when you need it.

Getting started and everyday answers for Birta Player on iPhone and iPad.

Start here

  1. Add your media

Tap + or Add File. Choose audio or video from Files or iCloud Drive.

  2. Press play

Select a file from your library. Use the playback controls to pause, seek, or skip back and forward.

  3. Settle in

Open Sleep Timer on the player screen. Choose a preset or your own duration, then lock your screen if you like.

Good to know

How does the sleep timer work?

It counts down only while media is playing. Pause playback and the timer pauses too. When time runs out, playback pauses and your position is kept.

Does it work offline?

Yes, when the file is available on your device. Birta Player references the originals in Files/iCloud rather than keeping a permanent separate copy. Your file provider may need to retrieve a file first.

Why is a file no longer available?

It may have been moved, deleted, or become unavailable through its file provider. Find it in Files, make sure it is available locally, and add it to your library again.

Does removing a file delete the original?

No. Removing a reference from Birta Player does not delete the original file from Files or iCloud Drive.

How do I add something to the queue?

Touch and hold a file in your library, then choose Add to Queue. Open Queue on the player screen to manage upcoming items.

Why did playback stop?

Calls, system interruptions, disconnected headphones, or an unavailable file can stop playback. Locking the screen alone should not stop audio. Force-quitting the app or restarting the device stops playback.

Why won’t an MP4 or MOV play?

The extension does not identify every codec inside a file. Your device needs to support both the container and codec. Corrupt and copy-protected files are not supported.

How do I change the language?

Open Settings in Birta Player, then Open App Language Settings. Choose English or Icelandic in the system app-language selector, when available.
