Who is behind Birta Player?
On The Spot ehf. publishes Birta Player. This policy explains how information is handled in the iPhone/iPad app, on this website, and when you contact us.
Your media stays with you
Birta Player does not send your media, filenames, listening history, or queue to us. The app stores a library catalog, references to selected files, playback positions, and queue information on your device. This information is used to reopen your files and manage playback.
Files and iCloud Drive
Files selected through Files or iCloud Drive stay in their original location. Birta Player keeps a reference that lets it open the selected file again. Apple or another file provider may retrieve it over the internet under your settings and that provider’s own terms. This version of the app does not offer direct URL downloads.
No tracking or advertising
The app has no user accounts, advertising system, or third-party analytics SDK. We do not collect app usage data, track you across apps, or sell personal information. Apple may process diagnostic information according to your device settings and Apple’s own policies.
Storage and deletion
File references and playback information remain on your device until you remove entries or delete the app. The Birta Player catalog is excluded from device backup. Removing an entry or deleting the app does not delete your original files in Files/iCloud. You manage those with the relevant file provider.
When you visit this website
This website uses no advertising, analytics scripts, or site-added tracking cookies. The hosting provider may process technical information, such as IP address, requested URL, browser details, and request time, to deliver and secure the website. Privacy and support links in the app open this website only when you select them.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to respond to your request and resolve problems. Email providers process messages to deliver them. We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request or meet legal obligations. Please do not send private media or passwords.
